What got me into hunting: My Grandpa and Uncle Mike are the two people who really instilled the love of hunting and the outdoors into my life from an early age. As I’ve gotten older, hunting has just become a huge part of who I am and how I look at life in general. My younger brother Luke has also had a huge impact on my love for hunting. He’s probably the only person I know who loves it more than me, and it’s just cool to have someone to enjoy it with year in and year out.
Favorite Memory: Man this one is tough. Each hunt has its special place in my mind (good or bad). Id have to say the hunt that sticks out to me the most is a deer hunt from the 2021 rifle season. My brother and I had a really nice 9 pointer on our hit list for the year, and it was the middle of the rut in Indiana. To make a long story short, we got to the property around 1230 just as a light snow started to fall. As we were walking in, we jumped “the 9” with a doe on a field edge, and Luke put a .243 round right through his chest. It was the prettiest hunting scene and quickest hunt I’ve ever been on. As I’m writing this, I realized my favorite hunting memory isn’t even one of my animals, and to me, that’s the coolest part about hunting.

What got me into hunting: My dad got me into hunting at a young age. I fell in love with it immediately and that feeling has never faded.
Favorite Memory: My favorite memory was from this year when my 6 year journey came to an end on my biggest buck to date. Laying my hands on him after all that time was a feeling I’ll never forget.

What got me into hunting: I had a family friend get me into hunting as a kid. Got my first shotgun soon after. My uncle that I looked up to as a kid got me into deer hunting. I remember as a kid going to his house, he had a nice buck on the wall over the mantle. I will never forget that buck and how awesome it was. He had a plaque by it being an Ohio big buck club qualifier. That deer sparked a love in me for chasing deer.
Every time I am on stand and see deer, the blood gets pumping and adrenaline flowing. What a feeling!!
The outdoors to me are such a wonderful escape from the busy world we live. Seeing God’s creation in front of doing its thing is amazing! Blessed to have the chance to do so. As I get older, spending time with friends outdoors and sharing a hunt is more valuable to me than ever. Those memories are priceless.
